SCL 360° FEEDBACK INTRODUCTION

During 1995, a new component of leadership
development, 360° Feedback was introduced at Shell Canada. It is
designed around Shell's Leadership and Management Areas of
Competence identified in the succession planning and development
model.
The purpose of 360° Feedback is to provide
recipients with individually focused feedback that will help them
determine what personal and professional development activities
will produce the greatest return on their efforts.
Feedback from direct reports, peers, and
customers/clients is anonymous - the person receiving the
feedback will see only a consolidation of responses for each
group of respondents. If the minimum of three responses is not
met for any of these groups, then the feedback for that group
will be consolidated with peer feedback.

Here are a few points to note before
you complete the Profile:
- to save your answers, click the Save Results button at the bottom of the Profile.
- you do not need to complete the entire Profile at one time. Your answers
are saved in the database so you could answer 10 questions today, another 10 tomorrow,
and the rest another day, but please answer every question you can.
- try to answer all 27 items as best you
can, based on your experience with the participant. If,
however, you find an Item that either is not relevant or
applicable to the participant, OR that you have not
personally observed, please use the NA choice for that
item.
- respond thoughtfully, yet quickly.
Experience shows that first impressions on numeric scales
are more accurate than labored decisions.
- the last two questions are Open-ended. The
feedback provided here has proven to be of significant
value to participants. Please take some time to provide
your candid views and suggestions. Give examples and
reference the specific competencies/behaviors/skills
described in the Profile to illustrate your points. Your
comments will be reported verbatim, but anonymously
grouped by Direct Reports, Peers, or Customers/Clients.
