EDI Viewer - Change Client Code

The Change/Merge Client Code window is used to globally change a client code to a new client code or merge a client code ownership into another client code. This window can also be used to create shutin AC1s for many FCCs at once.

You can change the ownership of a partner to a new partner or merge ownerships, generate AC1 forms and print the AC1 forms all at the same time for all FCCs where that client code is found.  This can save you the time of having to search for all the FCC's where this client code is used.

To change client codes:

  1. Choose the Client Code you are going to change or merge. By choosing a client code, you will see all the FCC's where that client code is being used by facility..
  2. Choose from the New Client Code column drop down list the client code you wish to change to or merge with.
  3. Enter the Effective Date that this change becomes effective. This will be used on the AC1 form.
  4. Enter the Date Prepared and Reason for Change that will be used on the AC1 form.
  5. Highlight the facilities from the list in the middle that you'd like to be changed or merged.
  6. At the bottom of the window, choose Change Client Code or Merge Client Code by clicking the appropreiate check box. Click the  Print AC1 check box if you want AC1's printed.
  7. Finally, click the Process button to make the client code changes for you.

Business Rules:

  • The only time you should use a merge is in a situation where one Client acquires another Client that it shares a partnership with. For Example, FCC 001 has a 75/25 DOI split between Company A and B. If Company A acquires Company B you would merge B's Client Code with A for that FCC. The result would be a Change AC1 where Company A has 100% Working Interest. If you were to use a Change for Company B to A, the database would see the same Client Code with 2 different WI% amounts for the same FCC and cause an error.
  • If Company A and B have the same 75/25 DOI split, and Company C acquires Company B, you would do a Change instead.
