EDI Viewer - Reconciling to the Invoice


EDI Viewer reports will reconcile to the Invoice, but you need to understand what data the reports are using so you can reconcile your numbers.

The data supplied in the Crown Royalty User Defined File only contains data about specific areas of the invoice. These areas are any areas consider to be a Charge type.

1. Reconciling the Crown Royalty charge type
2. Reconciling the Injection Credits charge type
3. Reconciling the Royalty Paid Banks charge type
4. Reconciling the Royalty Due Inventory charge type
5. Reconciling the EOR Adjustment charge type
6. Reconciling the Prior Period Interest charge type
7. Reconciling the Invoice Summary / Detail by Product / Detail by Stream reports to the Invoice
8. Reconciling the Provisional Assessment report to the Invoice
9. Reconciling the Provisional Assessment report to the Detail by Stream report

These charge types are the only numbers we can reconcile to the Invoice.

1. Reconciling the Crown Royalty charge type

The Invoice shows 3 columns we can reconcile to: Prior Periods, Current Period, and Total.
For sample purposes, let us assume we are dealing with this information:

To reconcile the Crown Royalty charge type to the Total column of $290,000.00

Run the Detail by Stream or Detail by Product report with these query parameters:

If you scroll to the bottom of the report and check the number under the Net Royalty column, you will find $290,000.00

To reconcile the Crown Royalty charge type to the Current Period column of $250,000.00

Run the Detail by Stream or Detail by Product report with these query parameters:

If you scroll to the bottom of the report and check the number under the Net Royalty column, you will find $250,000.00

To reconcile the Crown Royalty charge type to the Prior Periods column of $40,000.00

Run the Detail by Stream or Detail by Product report with these query parameters:

If you scroll to the bottom of the report and check the number under the Net Royalty column, you will find $40,000.00

2. Reconciling the Injection Credits charge type

The Invoice shows 3 columns we can reconcile to: Prior Periods, Current Period, and Total.
For sample purposes, let us assume we are dealing with this information:

To reconcile the Injection Credits charge type to the Current Period column of $186,000.00

Run the Detail by Stream or Detail by Product report with these query parameters:

To reconcile the Injection Credits charge type to the Prior Periods column of $5,000.00

Run the Detail by Stream or Detail by Product report with these query parameters:

If you scroll to the bottom of the report and check the number under the Net Royalty column, you will find $5,000.00

3. Reconciling the Royalty Paid Banks charge type

The Invoice shows 3 columns we can reconcile to: Prior Periods, Current Period, and Total.
The name on the invoice for Royalty Paid Banks will be Crown Royalty Paid Bank Settlement.
For sample purposes, let us assume we are dealing with this information:

4. Reconciling the Royalty Due Inventory charge type

The Invoice shows 3 columns we can reconcile to: Prior Periods, Current Period, and Total.

5. Reconciling the EOR Adjustment charge type

The Invoice shows 3 columns we can reconcile to: Prior Periods, Current Period, and Total.
For sample purposes, let us assume we are dealing with this information:

To reconcile the EOR Adjustment charge type to the Current Period column of $1,000.00

Run the Detail by Stream or Detail by Product report with these query parameters:

If you scroll to the bottom of the report and check the number under the Net Royalty column, you will find $1,000.00

To reconcile the EOR Adjustment charge type to the Prior Periods column of $500.00

Run the Detail by Stream or Detail by Product report with these query parameters:

If you scroll to the bottom of the report and check the number under the Net Royalty column, you will find $500.00

6. Reconciling the Prior Period Interest charge type

The Invoice shows 2 columns we can reconcile to: Prior Periods and Total.
The Prior Period Interest amount on the invoice is made up interest charges for the above 5 charge types and interest charges on Provisional Assessment. We need to look at 2 different reports to reconcile this amount.
For sample purposes, let us assume we are dealing with this information:

To reconcile the Prior Period Interest charge type to the Total column of $750.00

Run the Detail by Stream or Detail by Product report AND the Provisional Assessment report with these query parameters:

If you scroll to the bottom of both reports and add the numbers together that are under the Interest column, you will find $750.00

7. Reconciling the Invoice Summary / Detail by Product / Detail by Stream reports to the Invoice

The Invoice Summary / Detail by Product / Detail by Stream reports shows 1 column we can reconcile to: Net Royalty.
The Net Royalty amount is a combination of all the different charge types: Crown Royalty, Injection Credits, etc.

For sample purposes, let us assume we are dealing with this information:

Run the Invoice Summary report with these query parameters:

If you scroll to the bottom of the report, in the Net Royalty column you will find $425,000.00. This amount is made up of the these amounts from the Invoice:

Crown Royalty 550,000.00 Add
EOR Adjustment 2,000.00 Add
Injection Credits 112,000.00 Subtract
Crown Royalty Paid Bank Settlement 15,000.00 Subtract

8. Reconciling the Provisional Assessment report to the Invoice

The Provisional Assessment reports shows 1 column we can reconcile to the invoice: Provisional Assessment.
For sample purposes, let us assume we are dealing with this information:

To reconcile the Provisional Assessment amount of 330,000.00 to the Invoice

Run the Provisional Assessment report with these query parameters:

If you scroll to the bottom of the report, in the Provisional Assessment column you will find $330,000.00.

9. Reconciling the Provisional Assessment report to the Detail by Stream report

The Provisional Assessment reports shows 1 column we can reconcile to the Detail by Stream report: Net Royalty. To do this reconcilation between reports, we need to query the data by Facility and Product so we are matching apples to apples.
For sample purposes, let us assume we are dealing with this information:

To reconcile the Provisional Assessment Net Royalty amount of 30,000.00 to the Detail by Stream report

Run the Provisional Assessment report AND the Detail by Stream report with these query parameters:

If you scroll to the bottom of both reports in the Net Royalty column you will find $30,000.00.
