EDI Viewer - Saskatchewan Mineral Rights Tax GL Upload Window

EDI Viewer can create a GL Batch file for importing to your accounting system.

Before trying to create the GL Batch file, make sure you have done the following 2 steps:

1. Link Cost Centers to titles. This is done in the Cost Center Maintenance window:

2. Set up GL Accounts in the GL Account Maintenance Window:

Procedures to create the GL Batch File:

• Choose a Tax Year by using the up and down buttons, or manually enter the year
• Choose a Company from the drop down menu
• Choose an Invoice Number from the drop down menu, if you want to create an upload specific to one invoice. It is valid to leave this blank if you're creating a GL Upload for the entire Tax Year.
• Choose a Batch Type- either GL or AR
• Choose how to book your expensed entries- either 1 entry to December 31st of the Tax Year, or 12 Equal Monthly entries.
• Fill out the GL Batch Header information- this varies based on your financial system
• Specify directory and filename: clicking directory will let you navigate to the desired file location. Type in your file name and click save. This is where your GL file will be saved to once it is created
• Click the Create GL Batch File button to start the process. You may see a warning message appear, like the one below, indicating there are UWI's without cost centers in your system. This is only a warning and does not stop you from creating the GL Batch file, but you will NOT have GL entries for those UWI's without cost centers and your batch file will not balance.


Click Yes to continue and create the GL Batch file.

There is one main reason why the GL Batch may not be balanced:
1. There are Titles that are missing cost centers. Titles missing cost centers are not included in the upload process.
